Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council commitment to be carbon neutral by 2030
Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council (TMBC) full Council on 9 July 2019 declared its recognition of global climate change and biodiversity emergencies. As part of that motion, Members agreed to ensure Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council has policies that support climate change mitigation, and to bring forward a revised draft Climate Change Strategy, including deliverable performance indicators and an aspiration for Tonbridge and Malling to be carbon neutral by 2030.
Consultation of Air Quality for Taxi and Private Hire Vehicles
TMBC is launching this consultation on Air Quality for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicles, which will run from the 1 October 2021 until the 31 December 2021.
The consultation gives details of how TMBC proposes to move its Taxi and Private Hire fleet to carbon neutral fleet by 2030. It is proposed that the change in managed over the next nine years through a series of key steps which will detail the requirements of a licensed vehicle at stage.
We are encouraging anyone, especially the taxi operators, companies, and drivers to submit their views for Councillors to consider when finalising the Air Quality strategy to be implemented.
