All bin types used by TMBC

The current COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in reduced staffing levels for the waste contractor. In order to prioritise resources for the core refuse, food waste, recycling and clinical waste collections, the following services are suspended with immediate effect and until further notice:

Garden waste collections – Garden waste collections will resume from 11th May and will follow the current recycling collection calendar.

Please put your garden bin out by 7am on your usual collection day, as you did prior to the suspension of the service. Check your collection dates online if you are not sure of when to put out your brown bin.

TMBC understand that you will have more garden waste than usual. However they will not have the capacity to collect extra garden waste, so they can only take the waste contained in your subscribed bin(s). This means they are more likely to be able to complete all collection rounds on a daily basis so that everyone gets their scheduled collection. Please don’t overfill or compact the waste in the bins, as they may not be able to empty them.

Your subscription will be automatically extended to cover the three collections TMBC were unable to carry out for you. TMBC are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

New Garden Waste Subscriptions – For the next few weeks, whilst garden waste collections restart and settle down, TMBC are still not able to accept any new subscriptions at this time. Service provision is being kept under review, and hopefully will reopen for new subscriptions in a few weeks’ time, if not sooner.

Bulky waste collections – TMBC are pleased to let you know that they restarted their bulky waste collection service on Monday 4 May.

KCC’s Household Waste Recycling Centres reopened on Friday 15 May on a booking only basis. Check KCC’s website here for more information about the re-opening and how to book.

Saturday bulky freighter service – The service has been suspended until further notice.

Please continue to put your other bins & boxes out on your scheduled collection day. If further changes to the service are made necessary, we will continue to post updates on our website
