Tonbridge Castle is an exceptional historic building, considered to be one of the best examples of a Motte and bailey Castle in England. The Castle is a tourist attraction, heritage hub, culture centre and events venue.
Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council is seeking views on how the Castle and grounds can be used in the future to further meet the needs of the local community.
The Council is keen to understand what you think we should plan for in the future. This formal consultation will run from the 1 April 2022 until 31 July 2022.
The review of Tonbridge Castle and grounds will be run in three stages:
- Stage 1 – 2022 – Understand the needs of the community through consultation
- Stage 2 – 2023 – Agree future plans and develop implementation strategy
- Stage 3 – 2024 – Implement plans
As part of that consultation, we are very much wanting to seek the views of local businesses and how Tonbridge Castle can be best used to support the economy in the future. We know that large events attract more people to visit Tonbridge, however we are very keen to have your feedback.
We appreciate this is a very busy time for everyone, however we want to plan, insuring we understand the community and local business needs.
