We’re upgrading our gas network around Three Elm Lane, Tonbridge
We are writing to let you know about our project to upgrade our gas network around Three Elm Lane, Tonbridge. We are replacing our old metal gas mains and services with new plastic pipe. This essential work will ensure your community continues to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.
In consultation with Kent County Council, our contractor, I & G Contractors Ltd, who will be completing this project on our behalf, will start work on 4 April until Feb 2023.
The project will be completed in the following phases
Victoria Road
Our engineers will start work in Victoria Road from Three Elm Lane to Millstream Cottage, 4 April for approximately four weeks. We will be asking motorists to ‘give and take’ past our working site.
Three Elm Lane
From 25 April for approximately eight weeks, we will be working in Three Elm Lane from Tithe Ward Cottages to the junction of Blackmans Lane. To safely access our network of pipes, it will be necessary to install, temporary, two-way lights while we work in the Lane.
Blackmans Lane
We will be working along Blackmans lane from Three Elm Lane to A26 Tonbridge Road from 30 May until October. We will have a ‘rolling road closure’ in place as we move along the road. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses and a signed diversion will be in place.
Three Elm Lane
Our engineers will be returning to Three Elm Lane from 3 October until Feb 2023. Temporary traffic lights will be in place to control the traffic flow between our work area (Tithe Ward Cottages to Barnes Place)
Hartlake Road
We will be working from Three Elm Lane to Goldhill House in Hartlake Road. We will need to close the road around our worksite from 3 October for approximately three weeks.
I will update you as our project progresses.
We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks and we will only use traffic management to ensure the safety of the local community and our engineers.
