August is usually quiet so a good opportunity for kids birthday parties?

We now have a team in place to work on a rota to open and close the hall for users and make sure the place is clean and tidy. Many hands make light work so we would welcome more people to join the team!

New Strength, Mobility and Balance Class in Golden Green

Starts Monday 11 July 10.30am-12 noon then every Monday in the Mission Hall, Golden Green

Improve your balance or gain mobility and strengthen your muscles with a fully qualified instructor – and you get refreshments! £4 each (£6 for couples). Coffee and Chiddingstone Castle

Tuesday 2nd August 9.30am

After the success of our day in Whitstable, we plan a trip for a coffee and a visit to the lovely gardens (no charge) at Chiddingstone Castle. The optional extra castle visit costs £9.50. Minibus pick-up from the village hall at 9.30am, back by 12.30, cost for the transport £4 per head.

Wanted please: Books, DVDs, CDs, vinyl (no VHS); saleable items for the White Elephant stall; donations for the tombola and raffle. Bring to Signpost Field after 11am on 14 August. Tombola donations collected in advance by the tombola team.

GGA Platinum Jubilee Lunch

Although gusty, the weather stayed fine while we enjoyed picnic lunches and prosecco on Signpost Field, decked out in red, white and blue for the day. Like the rest of the country, the mood was festive as the Deputy Lord Lieutenant Jacques Arnold reminded us, when he led the Loyal Toast, that the Platinum Jubilee was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thanks to all who made the day a success: the organisers, helpers and not least the many residents who took part including, of course, Comfort the Bear. Deserving winners of the fancy dress competitions were Wendy & Tom Gardner (adults), Harry Watson (children) and Comfort (bears).
