The Golden Green Fete
On the hottest day of the year we managed to keep our cool and have a great time, raising about £900 (final figure tbc) with the various stalls and games. Our grateful thanks to everybody who attended and especially the stalwart gang of volunteers who made it all happen, not least our Chief Fete Organiser Alec Pelmore.
Pierce Mill Cherries
Mike and Tina report that sadly there’ll be no cherry stall this year, because the crop is so poor, owing to the unsuitable weather we had this Spring. As many people have commented, Pierce Mill cherries are a highlight of the summer, and we hope next year brings a bumper harvest.
Bourne Park Residents Group
We are very pleased to see the Bourne Park Residents group back together and meeting up. A very pleasant evening of cheese and nibbles was had in the Bell last month thanks to Rod and Sue – roll on the next one.
