Golden Green Hall

We are looking for a hall manager to take over from Robert & Rosalind who are retiring after many years. The cleaning is now done separately, so the job primarily involves managing the bookings and opening up/closing/dealing with hall users. Ideally needs somebody who is generally around and lives close to the hall. Contact Alec if interested.

Michael Baulf

It is with sadness we report the death of Michael Baulf. Michael first moved to Hartlake 44 years ago with his wife Jenny and has long been a central figure in the village. Michael was a parish councillor for many years in the 90s/00s and was a strong supporter of the hamlet, among other things playing a major part in the battle to deal with Stonecastle Quarry. Always full of energy, he had at one point been CEO of Somerhill Schools and at the age of 88 he was still actively running his hardware/appliances business (based in Somerset!). He will be very much missed – our thoughts are with Jenny and the family. Contact Jenny if you want details of the funeral.

Replacement of the gas mains with plastic pipes continues along Three Elm Lane with temporary traffic lights for another 7-8 weeks, working towards the junction of Blackmans Lane. In Blackmans Lane from 30 May until October there will be a ‘rolling road closure’ in place as they move towards the A26 Tonbridge Road. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses and a signed diversion will be in place.

May is Dementia Awareness Month

Show your support for those living with dementia and their carers by displaying blue colours in your windows and gardens. The forget-me-not is the dementia charities’ emblem so download a flower template your kids can colour in to put in the window or knit/crochet some forget-me-nots – there’s plenty of free patterns on the web.

A light snack is given during the session, and drinking water is available at all times. We have had extensive training, including all safeguarding areas & first aid, and can give your children a fun, safe and secure environment to enjoy making new friends and being a part of our lovely after school club.
