Golden Green Summer Fete

I think that was one of the best fetes we have had – perfect weather, lots of people and they stayed and chatted for a long time. A big thank you to the village for supporting it and to everybody who helped get everything from the hall, put up tents, and then take it all back at the end of the day. And particularly to those who ran stalls (and Angela who baked the cakes!). But most especially to Anne who found herself running books and antiques on her own – please can she have some help next year? A very successful result as well – we raised over £1400 (a record!) for the village which will go to maintaining the hall. Well done all! [AP]

Road Closures and Works

Shipbourne Road is closed between the junctions of Old London Road and Dry Hill Park Road until 30 July to carry out emergency sink hole repairs.

Blackmans Lane is scheduled to be closed on 14 July for one day 9:30am-3:30pm for works by OpenReach.

A26 Maidstone Road has temporary two-way traffic lights between Cemetery Lane and Lone Wood Way; these are scheduled to continue until 18 July until SGN gas works are completed. On 14-17 July, traffic control is also scheduled to allow drainage works at the junction of A26 Maidstone Road with Stanford Lane.

Hadlow High Street will have temporary traffic lights from 4-16 August while drainage works are carried out.

A21 roadworks and overnight closures will continue on various dates until October. (See the traffic map at https://one.network/ for more details)

More information including diversion routes can be found on the traffic map at https://one.network/ though we can’t guarantee that it’s up to date! Any deviation from the dates given are down to the contractor(s) concerned.

You can report non-urgent problems with roads and pavements to KCC online at https://www.kent.gov.uk/roads-and-travel/report-a-problem. This includes street light faults, potholes, drainage, traffic signal faults and overgrown vegetation (including hedges and grass)

Community Minibus Scheme – Drivers Wanted

This has become extremely popular with community groups; Hadlow Parish Council are now seeking additional Voluntary Minibus Drivers to ensure there are enough drivers for all the bookings. Drivers must be over 21 have a D1 or B licence. If you are interested, please contact the Parish Office (admin@hadlowpc.co.uk or 01732 851878)
