A traditional village fete. After the excitement of the Coronation Big Lunch, we’re getting down to business organising the summer fete which returns to its usual end of June date. All the old favourites are back – Tug-of-war, Egg & spoon, Pratt’s sack races, Coconut shy, Wheel of fortune, Piggy races, Hook-a-duck, Buzzer game, Giant jigsaw and Grand Raffle. There’s also the WI Cake stall, Cream teas, Strawberries and cherries (if ready), a Bar & BBQ and more! Another good opportunity to get the village together and create a community atmosphere.
…….But we need your help to make it happen!

Golden Green Coronation Big Lunch

The weather really smiled on our Big Lunch. There was a lovely atmosphere and everybody pulled together to create a wonderful community event. The food was really tasty (thanks to Chris Salter and team), Leah Hall was on top form singing popular songs, the table puzzles entertained (especially the limerick competition!) and the dog ‘show’ and agility course were a particular highlight.

Thanks to everyone who came and especially to those who helped before, during and after – too many to name, you know who you are. You really showed how taking part is the key to making Golden Green a great place to live …. and of course a big mention for Gabrielle, the mastermind, of this event which was even better than her Jubilee celebration.

AGMs for the Golden Green Association and Golden Green Mission Hall Charity

All resolutions carried unanimously (!) and all those present elected to the committee in addition to those previously elected. And a reminder that every resident of GG is automatically a member of the GGA – its just a community thing!
