Home Library Service - Volunteer and help your local community

Are you looking for a way to make a real difference in your community? The Home Library Service provided by Kent Libraries offers you the perfect opportunity to do just that. Whether you’re looking to stay active, learn new skills, or simply bring joy to others, volunteering with the Home Library Service means supporting those who find it difficult to visit the library due to various reasons such as disability, carer responsibilities, injury or ill health.

As a volunteer, you’ll bring more than just books to people’s homes, you’ll share stories, create connections and provide companionship. Volunteers help by collecting reserved books from the library, or selecting items from our shelves based on the service user’s interests, deliver them to people at home, and then collect them for return. With your help we can ensure everyone has access to a diverse range of books and resources.

The Home Library Service offers a flexible way to volunteer, allowing you to choose when and how often you give your time, making it easy to fit into your life.
